OneStep Reader provides convenient access to printed material anytime and anywhere. Reviewed as OneStep Reader 3.0, this app offers efficient and rapid text recognition capabilities. Its text-to-speech, text-to-Braille, and text highlighting features make it invaluable for individuals with visual impairments, dyslexia, and other reading differences.

The app allows users to import or capture photos of any text-containing item. By taking a photo, the app can either read the text aloud or display it on a connected refreshable Braille display. Reading has never been easier thanks to the simultaneous highlighting of both sentences and words being read in images or plain text documents. Moreover, the app assists in achieving high-quality photos through special alignment tools, including voice and vibration guidance. It also facilitates reading multiple pages, such as books, by snapping photos for later perusal.

Recognized as the recipient of three consecutive AppleVis Golden Apple Awards for Best Assistive Technology App in 2014, 2015, and 2016.

OneStep Reader's functionality extends beyond reading texts. It can also read nutritional information on breakfast cereal labels, price tags while shopping, and even capture and read mail contents.

The app has further conveniences to offer, including capturing print directly from computer or tablet screens. Simply photograph the screen to gain clarity on any error message. Plus, the app features landscape support, an unlimited page recognition limit for batch processing, and the ability to add subfolders to the local folder structure. For seamless storage and retrieval of documents, OneStep Reader integrates with Microsoft OneDrive, Dropbox, and Google Drive. The app even allows users to make calls, send emails, and open hyperlinks directly from documents. In fact, you can call or email a new contact directly from the text on her business card.

Fully localized versions of OneStep Reader with user interface, recognition, and speech are available in English, German, Italian, French, Spanish, Norwegian (Bokmål), Swedish, Portuguese, Dutch, Turkish, Danish, Polish, Russian, Japanese, and Czech.

Other languages support speech and recognition only: Afrikaans, Albanian, Bulgarian, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Croatian, Estonian, Finnish, Greek, Hungarian, Icelandic, Indonesian, Romanian, Serbian (Cyrillic), Serbian (Latin), Slovak, Ukrainian.
